intorduction

Hello everybody,
Ever since I created this page I hardly posted anything. I'm still learning how to navigate through it all.But first of all id like to introduce myself. My name is Patra but well know as Asha to my friends. I'm the second of four kids and i must say i think I've seen it all. fashion is something that has always been in me. surrounded by women (my mother, and aunt) that made clothes and a lot of hand crafts was magical to me. At the age of 5 I was curious of making clothes and I closely watched my mother saw clothes. I decided I'd do the same for my barbie dolls. i had a collection of pants, tops, sweaters and jackets. Now that i look back i smile with amazement because I had so much time in my hand. I continued making clothes by recycling anything my mom decided was old around the house. id make anything i could and that's when i learned it was something I'm interested in. i made things such as scarfs, pillow cases, dresses and of course clothes for my barbie dolls :).  my freshmen year in high school i enrolled in fashion design. it was the most amazing class and always looked forward to going back. everyday we would learn the basis steps of fashion, sewing and everything to know about it. we would be challenged at the end of the day to take a fabric and turrn into 5 article of clothing. this was my favorite part just because you can take a scarf and do so much with it. did i pass? yes i passed the class i was excited and sad because we could only take that class once. my first retail job was at Victoria's secret then express...and i felt at home because the clothes talked to Me and i understood them very well. just because it looks good on the mannequin doesn't mean it will look the same on you. i sold clothes and i told them "i want you to wear this outfit and feel great, i want you friends to look at  you and feel great for you. i don't want you to go out there and people look at you differently"  it was always about the "PERFECT FIT" look good and feel good. down the road modelling gigs were presented to me and i took it without looking back. i worked with great you designers and that opened my eyes  to a different world. modelling to me is the language your body speaks in an outfit. the way you walk, twirl, pose and even look tells allot about how you feel in that outfit. And so when i was given an outfit i walked that walk and i let my body talk that talk because only the audience could translate it. And i hope i delivered. from my mother my aunt and to the young talented upcoming designers out there i just want to let you all  know that you have inspired me. my vision is big and one day I'll get to open my own boutique with my clothes and everyone else in it. i will look back and smile because it started somewhere. so "put your best foot forward and always look your best"

Xx  Patra..
