Are you ready for Valentine's Day?

Roses are red, violets are blue and, yes you guessed it right Valentines Day. when you think of Valentine's Day we think of chocolate, flowers, and mostly the color "Red" or maybe  pink. . Truth be told it doesn't matter how you celebrate it, it's s day dedicated to Romance. from sexy little things (lingerie) dinner dates, candy what to do before and i don't care about the after (Shhhh.....), i have a few tips that may help.

look the part-the difference between ladies and gents is that it takes us longer to get dressed. Since this is a special occasion try to be organized by making sure you got you outfit ready. maybe your going shopping, do it now and if you are a fashionista well, you always make a piece in your closet look new. Is it a day date, night or after hours? Whatever it is dress the part. If you are meeting your date for a day date here is a piece that is ralaxing, romantic and it shows you tried but not too much.

this is a simple skinny jeans paired with a loose top giving room for lunch, as far as accessorising less is more. make sure your lips are moisturised for that "kiss"

Night look- you are more likely to go to a fancy dinner or clubbing. comfort is key. you want to look glamorous. This next piece is a twist of glam and edgy put together. Since it is February it's chilly out side grab your trench or any warm article of clothing you choose. you don't need too much accessories in this look. your best accessory would be your smile.
after hours- I'm sure after this long romantic day you'd wanna be more relaxed. Try a sexy piece from victoria's secret. Enjoy your  candy hearts and pink cupids.

Healthy hair

Hey everyone,
I promised that I would blog at least once a week. unfortunately that didn't work out. with work and school I've been a little occupied. I'm back though and today we will be talking about healthy hair. Our hair goes through  too much heat (blow dry/flat iron),bad dye jobs (coloring),  too much styling, harsh shampoos, ponytail holders, tangled, exporsure to the sun and too much washing. In order to keep your hair looking healthy and long you must always get a trim.
my hair was bouncy and healthy in this pic

everyone has a prefrence when it comes to their hair length. wether you hair is long or short it is your responsibilty to keep it healthy. A lot of us hold on to our long hair because we have the fear of trimming. but ask yourself this would you rather have a skinny ponytail or a thick healthy ponytail? According to my hair stylist hair must be trimmed atleast every 8 weeks but if you have a damaged hair the first 6 weeks for check up. I love my hair an im never pissed if my hair stylist says "patra you need a trim" im always like "do what you gotta do". ive seen a lot of skinny ponytails and I dont want to put my hair through that. so trimming is a neccesity ladies and gents
What we use on our hair determines the growth. too much heat (blow drying/ hot combs/flat ironing) is not great for our hair. and if you are the type that is addicted to try to use them twice a week. When flat ironing or blow drying my hair i always use protective products to prevent the heat from burning my hair. use leave in conditions and always wrap your hair when going to sleep.
shampooing is also a huge factor. whenever you shampoo your hair you also have to condition it aswell. Try not to wash your hair on a daily base because you are washing the natural oils out. Atleast once a weak and if that's not great there are dry shampoo. it is a powder that you put all over your hair and keeps your hair clean aswell. i havent used it so i don't have a review for it :( .....

these are my few tips if you guys have any ideas on how to keep you hair healthy do share. till then Xoxo

Life and scenery

Henna me up.
on the back

Growing up my mother would decorate brides to be and brides maids with henna. I always enjoyed watching them glamed up. She new how to highlight so she'd ask you what you want, dark, medium  light, or combination :). to be honest i always thought the darker the henna is the more attention you get.  The good thing about henna is that it's not permanent. it lasts for at least three to four weeks. one may choose to re-apply or create your own design. Won't it be fun to have an original henna  all the time? Yes i love original :)

The history of henna. Many people identify henna with the middle east, Egyptians(Africa) and the Hindus. This is so true. Henna was used on special occasions ONLY. Now its trending as a fashion statement. Which is awesome because you don't need a license and it's easy to learn Good thing is that I haven't heard of any problems or allergic reactions. yes ts a skin stain (dye) but there haven't been reports of infections. I like needles only at my doctors office so tattoo is not my cup of tea. Henna is pain free and that is what i will be into this spring -summer. More like my new obsession along side Solange. Here some of my fav pics.....

on the hand and this is an example of applied henna

on the foot before and after. for a darker dye you'd have to leave it on longer.

As you can see there's so much you can do with henna. i hope you enjoyed it and hopefully it will inspire you to create  unique designs, but if you like tattoo hey no problem beauty is pain. :) till then

Solange and Beyonce's updates

I want me some chunky Solange braids

When it comes to fashion/ hair my go to girl is Solange Knowles. for those who don't know who she is, she is Beyonce's baby sister. I first fell in love with Solange when I saw her in the tribal dress. Wether she is rocking a short do, natural do, braids, springy coils, or the mini or huge fluffy fro she always stays and looks chic. I've always been inspired by her edgy Bohemian styles and of course like I mentioned the tribal attires she has been rocking. This super star is not free to express her fashion and that's  we (I) love her.

Here are some of my fave hair styles and fashions as well.

the "super short but natural" hair do,

the springy bouncy curls/coils,

and her fashion is beyond this world

Beyonce and Jay z welcomes baby Blue Ivy.

Ever since Beyonce announced her pregnancy paparazzi have been hunting for pictures, bloggers and editors hungry for details and of course I on the other hand was happy for her. As tabloids circled about whether her baby bump was real?, was there a surrogate mother? and many more. A lot of Beyonce's fans supported her through this hard and tough journey. is there a conspiracy or all these theories are correct?
well to answer that question whether you want to believe it or not Beyonce put to bed a beautiful baby girl ( Ivy Blue Carter) on Saturday. The meaning behind the name is  is uncertain but it certainly is a conversation starter. According to tabloids the name has already sparked a few conspiracy. There's rumor that the name Blue Ivy proves that the couple are members of the Illuminati. And some other stupid sites say that the name is lucifer's daughter when spelled backwards. really? (no it doesn't)
whether its true or not Jayonce are well known and deffinately loved by their loyal fans. one thing is that baby Blue  has lots of fans as well  and many of us want to know what she looks like, how much she will rank in her first cover and is B going to have more babies. Well since Jayonce are private couple it'll be hard to know it all. one thing for sure is that the royal family is complete and many blessings to them.

family matters.

How can i talk to my parents?

Our parents are always the first people we ran to for advice when we were younger. We told them pretty much everything from the bruised knee to the booboo on our fingers. And we all confided in them no matter what the response was. For some of us now that we are teeneagers or older, we may feel a certain type of way. some get along and others don't. But for most teenegers we feel as though parents just dont get us or they can't relate to us anymore. or sometimes you may not want to open to them. there is nothing wrong with keeping some thoughts to ourselves. "I have some stuff that i'd rather not tell anyone even my best friends so i totally understand".
At the end of the day our parents are here for us. They  may be old schooled, or you lost their trust  or maybe they just don't want to hear it. it is your job to talk to them convince them to  what you want them to hear is important. Dont shut down and if you can't talk to your parents there are leaders at school, leaders at church, and your best friend.
These are obstacles we all have to cross as we get older. It's likegoing to the store and buying an outfit and it looks good but when you bring it home its not the same :( .... thats our parents they listen but when they have to listen and it doesnt make sense they're not buying it :(
so how do we talk to our parents? timing is key. know the right time to talk to them. The tone of your voice, your body language and the location and if nervouse bring a friend for suport.(don't let them speak for you). sometimes it helps if you take walks, go shopping or date nights those are the best times to talk to someone.
so the next time you feel you can't talk to your family try some of the tips above and practice comunication skills. theses are just a few i hope this helped and alsways stay fashionably dresses :)( it has nothing to do with it but it helps in making you feel good about yourself and always smile)

Why are we always arguing?

Why are we always arguing is a question every teen asks. It doesn't matter what it is about, but it always leaves you feeling awful.Sometimes when I argue with my mother, I always bite my tongue but drowning in so much thoughts. I'd sit there and agree  with everything just to make everything go away. not to be religious on you guys or anything but the good book suggest we honor our parents. It also encourages us to think for ourselves as well. So maybe it is a great thing that I choose not to speak my mind and why is that "timing" is key.
The question is how can you express yourself without turning a normal situation into World War III? it's very easy to say "well technically it's my parents problem and they are the ones on my case anyways." so how much control do you have over others and your parents included? so when you think about it the only person you can change is yourself. In order for the tension to be eased  you have to do your part then your parents are more likely to hear you out.
So how can you do this? First of all is think before you respond. We always say what comes in mind without thinking. If you find yourself in this situation try to answer their questions with care. No sarcasm or other words speak respectfully. I noticed my mother gets mad at me mostly because I'm always sarcastic, on my phone, computer etc. When you parents are trying to get your attention try not to be distracted by any electronics, books or maybe anything that could tick them off. Another major one is speak quietly and slowly avoid rolling your eyes or giving other nonverbal indications of any annoyance. the last step is to listen. not only to yourself but your parents. this is the part you let your parents speak and give them your full attention. while they are speaking do not interrupt or try to justify your actions. when they are done whether right or wrong you can ask questions or express yourself. Sometimes it's better to leave things at a still point just because if you go further you might end up at the beginning.

These methods can be used at work with coworkers, school and any where helpful. Sometimes all we need to do is listen simple as that.
